I thought this was a great case!
It is amazing how much we can learn from the mistakes of others.
Were it not for the decision, by the board of directors, to be transparent the world would not have had the benefit of learning from their mistakes.
Honesty takes courage.
What did you think of the case? Any comments?

Hi all,
I wanted to discuss something in class about this. Looking at Dana-Farber case, it seems like an ideal model for quality improvement, given their results. However, one thing that keeps pinching me is, when you know that some error has been made, how can you NOT opint out the source (or rather the end point) where the mistake occurred. My experience tells me that the moment a problem is highlighted, it very quickly becomes a blame-game situation no matter how much you tell people to use this as a learning experience.
I'd be glad if someone has good advice on this.
Thanks for your comment. You are right ideaman, people like to assign blame. I would even go so far as to say that it is human nature. I don't really have advice I just wanted to say that I agree with you.
